LOURDES C. ANGELES - Chairman & CEO
Mrs. Angeles has a multi-faceted professional career spanning over 30 years. She has been a corporate senior executive for 15 years.
Her recent experience in the development of the country’s Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry has been with National Pen Corporation, a multi-national company that has chosen the Philippines for its offshore business operations. At National Pen Philippines, she has taken oversight responsibility and management of the facility build-out, the setup and growth of the organization and, the overall operations. She takes pride for having provided the leadership in the development of a strong Filipino management team and for building a company culture anchored on professionalism, integrity and performance.
She has co-founded DataMed, a company that offers healthcare-related services such as medical transcription, billing and coding and other outsourced services.
She has setup in the IT company of the Lopez Group, one of the country’s large business conglomerates, a business unit that has developed the company’s outsourcing and managed-service business where she has developed and implemented a business plan on Business Continuity and Recovery Service (BCRS) for the banking and other major commercial enterprises.
She has been tapped and has served as a Consultant for the Philippine Government where she has conceptualized a system architecture that would provide the groundwork for an effective and efficient monitoring of the Office of the President’s flagship programs and projects.
She has been the CIO of Philippine Airlines, the country’s flag carrier, where she has led the development of Information Technology strategies and implementation of major system projects to position the airline in a highly competitive industry. Her experience in the company has been capped with her heading the airlines’ Corporate Planning.
JOEL GARCIA – President / COO
Mr. Garcia has a Master of Health Services Administration from The George Washington University and currently consults for both Butuan Doctor’s College and Hospital. He is a former administrator at Asian Hospital and Medical Center, the premiere hospital in the Philippines, where from 2002-2006, he served both as Chief Information Officer and Director for General Services.
Mr. Garcia is an associate of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Philippines College of Hospital Administrators. An active member of the The George Washington University HSMP Alumni Association, Mr. Garcia also enjoys mentoring international students in healthcare administration. In his spare time, Mr. Garcia consults for the Asian Hospital Charities Foundation, as well as serving as a guest lecturer at the Asian Institute of Management.
RAMON I. DIAZ, Jr. MD - Director
From most outstanding intern at the Makati Medical Center in 1990, Dr. Diaz’s career in the medical profession covered 25 years of work from general surgery to performing open heart and thoracic surgeries.
During his fellowship in the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, he was a recipient of the Rene Faxalovo Award for outstanding fellow in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery.
He instituted and is the current Chairman of the Gift of Life Foundation at the Makati Medical Center. He is a Diplomate, Philippine Board of Surgery, member of the Asian Vascular Society, member of the Philippine Medical Association and member of Rotary Club of Makati West.
JORGE M. GARCIA. MD - Member, Advisory Committee
Dr. Jorge Garcia is one of the renowned cardiothoracic surgeons in the world. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors and is the Founding Chairman of Asian Hospital and Medical Center. A graduate and top-notcher from the University of Santo Tomas School of Medicine, Dr. Garcia migrated to the US and took his medical residency at the Washington Hospital Center. After a cardiac surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr Garcia established a private practice in Washington DC that would eventually become one of the busiest heart surgery programs on the east coast.
In 1986, a published U.S. Medicare report on Coronary Artery Bypass Graph (CABG) surgery mortality rates cited Dr. Garcia’s practice with the lowest mortality rate among all other heart surgery programs. This report substantiated Dr. Garcia’s credibility and proved he is among the best heart surgeons in the world.
Dr. Garcia is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a clinical professor at The George Washington University Hospital. In his spare time, Dr. Garcia lectures and performs yearly missions to China and Egypt.
